Welcome to My First Blog Post on Finances
As some of you already know, I recently completed Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University — and I learned so much from it! Every good turn deserves another, which is why I’ve decided to share some of the valuable lessons I gained from the program with you.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be focusing on finances — a topic many of us either avoid or don’t think is truly important to “get together.” But the truth is, financial peace is deeply tied to our overall well-being and spiritual growth.
A Heads-Up Before We Begin
Let me prepare you ahead of time: you might not agree with some of the tips I’ll be sharing here, at least not right away (or maybe even eventually) — but they’re worth thinking about.
The Bible says,
“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to destruction.”
We’ll also be digging deeper into the book of Proverbs and other scriptures — not a full sermon from an entire chapter, but verses that align with the financial lessons I’ll be sharing.
So, for a short while, we’ll be pausing our Restoration of Hope series to focus on Restoration of Finances.
“The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.”
— Proverbs 21:5 (ESV)
Why This Matters
To be very candid, much of what I’ll share will be especially helpful for those who have a partner or an accountability friend — because staying consistent is easier when someone walks with you.
But even if you’re on this journey alone, don’t worry. You can absolutely achieve financial freedom with the right mindset, faith, and persistence.
This first post is just a warm-up — a chance to get our hearts and minds ready for what’s coming next. Everything we discuss about building wealth and becoming a Baby Steps Millionaire will be practical, realistic, and relatable for everyday people like you and me.
Who Is Dave Ramsey?
Dave Ramsey is a personal finance expert, author, and radio host best known for helping millions of people take control of their money through simple, biblically grounded principles.
His well-known Baby Steps Plan focuses on:
- Getting out of debt
- Building an emergency fund
- Creating lasting wealth through discipline and generosity
Prepare for the Journey Ahead
So, grab your Bible, notepad, and calculator — we’ll be needing all three as we learn, reflect, and apply these lessons together.
Remember: financial freedom starts with your mindset — renewing your beliefs about money, work, and stewardship.
“The borrower is servant to the lender.”
— Proverbs 22:7 (KJV)
Let’s walk this journey with wisdom, faith, and accountability — trusting that God’s principles still work in every area of our lives, including our finances.
Your Turn
Before you go, I want to challenge you to take one small step this weekend:
pray and reflect on your current financial habits.
Ask God to reveal any area where He wants you to grow or take more responsibility.
“Moreover, it is required in stewards that a man be found faithful.”
— 1 Corinthians 4:2 (KJV)
If this message resonated with you, take a moment to share it with a friend or family member and invite them to walk this journey with you.
You can also leave a comment below — I’d love to hear how you’re preparing your mind and heart for financial peace.
And before you go, check out my “Inspired to Plan” Journal in the store section of this website — it’s designed to help you stay organized and intentional as you work toward your goals.
Together, let’s trust God, take wise steps, and watch how He brings order and blessing into our finances.
